Karla Rodriguez is an entertainment executive specializing in talent relations, fandom strategy, and creative development across both vertical and traditional formats. She currently serves as Head of Talent Relations & Brand Partnerships at GoodShort, a leading vertical streaming platform, where she oversees talent, PR, and fandom initiatives while driving brand partnerships and audience growth. Her work sits at the intersection of data, community, and storytelling, leveraging real-time audience insights to shape content strategy, amplify talent visibility, and build culturally relevant, fan-driven ecosystems.
Prior to GoodShort, Karla played a key role at ReelShort, where she led casting partnerships, content creator collaborations, and fandom initiatives that directly supported show performance and talent discovery. She was instrumental in building scalable systems that connected talent growth with audience engagement, helping position vertical storytelling as both a creative and commercial pipeline.
Karla began her career at Sony Pictures Entertainment, working across Screen Gems and Sony Television in creative development, while also strengthening her operational expertise through Global Strategic Sourcing and cross-functional project leadership. She later expanded her production experience through collaborations with Vogue and Condé Nast, contributing to high-profile digital productions and refining her ability to manage creative workflows across platforms.
A Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Gold Rising alum, Karla presented at the 92nd Academy Awards. In 2024, she wrote and developed Jellybean’s Journey, an award-winning animated short that won Best Animated Screenplay at the New York Screenwriting Awards and is currently in development. She is passionate about building stories, talent, and platforms that resonate with global audiences and reflect the evolving future of entertainment.
