MPSE and CAS Serve as Event Partners for “Mix Presents Sound for Film”
Motion Picture Sound Editors (MPSE) and Cinema Audio Society (CAS) are event sponsors for the third annual Mix Presents Sound for Film, an all-day exhibition and conference spotlighting technologies and techniques behind sound for picture from production to playback. The third annual exhibition and conference event will be held September 17th at Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City.
Sponsored by Mix Magazine, this year’s event will focus on workflow changes prompted by the boom in film and television production, and emergence of new entertainment media, including virtual reality.
Other features will include:
- Audio for VR Room: Presented in the Kim Novak Theatre, a Dolby and Auro 3D-equipped re-recording stage. New tools and techniques for the ultimate in Immersive Sound.
- Sound Reel Showcase: Presented in the William Holden Theatre, a Dolby and Auro 3D-equipped re-recording stage. Film studios present 10-minute reels of their showcase films with introductions by the sound teams.
- Production Sound Pavilion: Presented in the iconic Barbra Streisand Scoring Stage. Top production sound mixers show what’s in their sound carts, and top manufacturers show the latest in wireless, microphone and recorder technologies.
